Paper

paper.design

Design canvas built on HTML/CSS where IDE agents read and write layers, syncing tokens, components and real content between code and design.

What is Paper?

Paper is a design canvas built on HTML and CSS, aimed at teams working alongside AI agents rather than passing files between tools. Because the canvas speaks web standards, work on it is already code, so a layout exports without a translation step.

The agent connection runs both ways: an IDE or CLI agent attached over MCP can read and write layers, sync design tokens, styles and components between a codebase and the canvas, and pull real content from files, a CMS or a database — then push edited copy back into the repo. Agents also take on responsive variants and consistency checks. The free plan allows unlimited viewers and editors; Pro is $16 per editor per month billed yearly and adds 1M MCP tool calls per week, video export and 100 MB images.
