Open-source React and CSS library that reconstructs Claude's desktop chat interface, shipping 30 component modules plus the motion and scroll physics behind them.
Open Claude UI (OCU) is an MIT-licensed TypeScript repository that rebuilds the Claude desktop client as reusable React modules, derived from static analysis and deobfuscation of the shipped app. The README documents 30 production modules, including a chat composer with a CJK input-method guard, message bubbles, a model switcher with token gauge, MCP tool-approval cards, a streaming diff viewer, scroll-fade containers and macOS vibrancy window chrome, along with a 3,000+ line reverse-engineering manual split into seven parts.
It is not an Anthropic product. The token layer and pure CSS are deliberately decoupled from React and Tailwind, so projects on other stacks can import tokens.css or pure.css to get the 183 design tokens and zero-JS scroll-fade masks. Assets are clean-room: no proprietary fonts or audio are distributed, and interface sounds are synthesised with the Web Audio API instead.

About 130 hand-crafted animated React components built with Tailwind CSS v4 — text effects, backgrounds, cards, widgets and bento grids — installed with the shadcn CLI.
Animate UI replaces shadcn/ui primitives with animated versions built on Radix UI, Base UI and React Aria, driven by Motion.
